why isn't cod4 playable? because of 1.8 and mods? 1.8 isnt great in a lot of ways but its still certainly possible to play promod in pubs and scrims. Vanilla pub is more fucked with game altering mods.

People play 1.8x now, which blocks modification of the iw3mp.exe alongside some popular cheats

It's not, but ppl for ex. used to modify the .exe for unlocking the FPS dvar, therefore they can use 333FPS on public etc...
